That's why Curry Health Network offers two locations for emergency medical care - close to home.
●Curry Medical Center-Emergency Care in Brookings - Oregon's first and only free-standing satellite emergency department
Our emergency departments (EDs) provide quality, compassionate care to every patient - both departments are staffed 24/7/365 by on-site, board-certified or board-eligible physicians, registered nurses, and registered respiratory therapists.
When patients require a higher level of care, ground and air transport to another facility is available from both EDs.
Our emergency departments are focused on enhancing the patient experience by
●providing compassionate, quality care
●reducing patient wait times
●improving efficiency
Emergency physicians specialize in the care of patients with an emergent medical condition, which requires immediate attention. The emergency department providers are experts in rapidly assessing a patient's condition to determine what care is needed to stabilize the patient. These physicians are dedicated to tending to a patient's immediate needs, treating injuries or illnesses and, in many cases, saving the lives of patients.
Emergency medicine physicians are dedicated to providing efficient, quality care to patients who come to the emergency department. The highly trained physicians stabilize patients' conditions by:
●assessing the patient
●conducting evaluations
●ordering tests
●diagnosing conditions
●providing emergent treatments
The emergency physicians are typically board certified or board eligible in emergency medicine, internal medicine or family medicine and are trained to understand the special needs of patients who come to the emergency department.
Some of the many benefits emergency physicians provide include:
●Rapid evaluation and treatment of acute conditions
●Timely stabilization
●Regular monitoring of acute conditions
●Expert insight into emergency situations
●Clear communication to patients and families about diagnoses and treatments
●Direct exchange of information with patients' other physicians
Emergency physicians lead and direct the medical team that cares for patients in the emergency department. The team includes our registered nurses who maintain the following specialized certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Trauma Nursing Core Curriculum (TNCC). The team also includes registered respiratory therapists who maintain BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications; in addition to patient care technicians.
The team is dedicated to ensuring that patients receive the highest quality clinical care, while providing timely and efficient service in two convenient locations.
